01Our journey
From a small engineering consultancy to a national IoT solutions provider — here is how we got here.
2010 — Founded
1othub was founded in Kuala Lumpur by a team of industrial engineers frustrated with expensive, rigid SCADA systems. We set out to build smarter, more accessible automation tools for SMEs and mid-market manufacturers.
2015 — First product
We deployed our first live IoT sensor network across three manufacturing plants in Selangor. The system reduced unplanned downtime by 38% within six months — validating everything we believed about accessible industrial IoT.
2018 — iSmart platform born
After three years of field data and customer feedback, we launched the iSmart platform — a unified suite of industry-specific IoT products covering manufacturing, buildings, agriculture, logistics, and energy in one cloud ecosystem.
2021 — Regional expansion
We expanded operations into Shah Alam, Selangor, establishing a technology centre to support growing demand from the Klang Valley manufacturing corridor, and onboarded our 50th enterprise client. Partnerships with leading telcos for LoRaWAN and LTE-M coverage enabled rural and industrial IoT deployments at scale across Peninsular Malaysia.
2024 — Training academy
Recognising the skills gap in the local IoT talent market, we launched a dedicated training division offering industry-certified courses in IoT development, edge computing, and smart system design for engineers and technical professionals.
2026 — Today
Today 1othub operates as Malaysia’s most comprehensive IoT solutions partner, combining products, services, and training under one roof. We are headquartered in Selangor with operations across Peninsular Malaysia, and we remain independently owned and fully committed to building locally while thinking globally.
